How to support your child if they’ve fallen behind in school

Many kids have fallen behind with their schooling over the last two years so if you’re reading this, know that you’re not alone. We’ve tried so many things to get our kids caught up such as tutoring (which gets expensive), working with them one on one and getting them assistance in school. While these things have helped a little bit, they can be very time consuming and overwhelm our kids.

We started using Popular Book Companies workbooks two years ago and found they’ve really helped our kids get on back on track more than anything else we’ve tried. They carry a massive line of Canadian curriculum workbooks for kids in pre-K all the way through to grade 12 with various different subjects. I find it helpful that some of the workbooks focus on one individual subject so if your kids are only struggling with one class you’re able to get a workbook that’s dedicated solely to that topic.

These have really come in handy over the last two years and our kids are less overwhelmed by the workload when they only have to complete a few pages a night. We find they’re more likely to pay attention and focus on their work when they only have to do a little bit at a time (around 20 to 30 minutes an evening). Finding a balance between free time, school, extracurriculars and getting caught up is hard, but Popular Book Company workbooks make it doable. The best part? They are SO affordable and easily accessible! They’re available at Costco or you can order them at popularbooks.ca.
